Long dominated by its better planned and Dow endowed neighbor Lake Jackson, the City of Clute Texas sought to elevate itself through a collaborative entitlement granting with DHK Development. SLA authored and processed a Planned Unit Development (PUD) with the City that enabled a mix of housing types not previously permitted in the City. The heretofore not permitted lot mix, strong financial incentives negotiated by DHK Development and the Master Plan and unique amenities for that City, were successful in making WoodShore the most successful residential community in the Clute-Lake Jackson market.
