has led to a patchwork approach to development, particularly cargo development. Highly land constrained, the primary portal airports of Miami, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, are land limited facing a 21st Century growth outlook struggling to solve the constraints of their 20th Century growth and capacity, but not in land area.

In collaboration with Airis Holdings, SLA collaborated in the development of a cargo master plan through internal phased redevelopment to expand the cargo capacity by a factor of 2-3 times on the same land footprint. Through the unique deployment of the Aris patented VICC multistory air cargo/logistics buildings, the MIA South Cargo master plan provided MIA with a game changing growth option without additional land acquisition(s). Through substantial footprint reductions, additional uses including hotel, commercial and airside functions were proposed for the redevelopment.
